On the weekend of the 12th and 13th March 2016 (Labour Day Long Weekend), you're invited to experience one of Melbourne's favourite foodie festivals - the Port Phillip Mussel Festival 2016.
Hosted at South Melbourne Market, as part of this year's Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, this special annual event is perfect for all the family to enjoy.
Opening at 12pm on both days, you'll be greeted with a vibrant celebration of seafood, accompanied by the sounds of Melbourne's hottest jazz. This is one seafood street party you don't want to miss!
Entry is FREE and here's what you can look forward too! Expect a great mussel cook up from iconic Melbourne chefs, from mussel paella to wok cooked drunken mussels, as well as a delicious range of other seafood dishes!
Participating traders include Dandelion, St Ali, The Grosvenor Hotel, Claypots Evening Star, Paco y Lola, Köy and Simply Spanish. There will also be a range of beautiful local wines, sangria and craft beers to enjoy, as well as ice-cream and fun activities for the kids.
The live music line-up includes performances by Margie Lou Dyer, Paul Williamson's Hammond Combo, The Pearly Shells, Julie O'Hara Jazz Party, Horns of Leroy and a special appearance by The King himself, Elvis!
Come along with your family and friends and spend the long weekend feasting, drinking, dancing and celebrating Australian seafood!
